Next To Normal tells the story of a family coping with grief, mental illness, and their connections to each other through it all. With a rock inspired score, this show carries the energy and tension of its characters' inner turmoil into the essence of its music and writing.
The venue for this production was a local movie theater, creating unique challenges and requiring creative problem solving. It was also my first time directing a musical, and launching into the intense material with our scrappy production capabilities gave me a running start into directing musical theatre.
